Although I grew up not knowing anyone with my surname who wasn't related to me, it seems that there are more people writing Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror called Barnett than with any other surname*.

Aside from my good self, there is the recently LJ-friended Paul Barnett, who writes fiction under the pen name John Grant and does his editing work under the Barnett moniker.

There's another David, David G Barnett, who writes scary horror stuff and has a website called evilwriter.com.

There's the sadly-departed fantasy writer Lisa A. Barnett, who the world lost to breast cancer in 2006.

And this David Barnett has written at least one time travel book.

Maybe we should have some kind of club or something.

Or maybe I should change my name.
